“The tag is a kanji, and the piece is its formal explosion.

In the act of tagging, there exists the possibility of transferring the essence of what is being enacted into an aesthetic and expressive reformulation.

Gesture, rhythm, and dynamism are the components that, Inherent in the writing gesture, shape the graphic trace from which the architecture of lettering emerges…“ There seems to be a tension in precarious yet perfect balance that animates the work of Made514, an equilibrium between chaos and control. A subtle thread that succeeds from hid origin in graffiti as well as in to contemporary works, to intertwine two apparently antithetical aspects in a
subtle fusion of the fascinating visual aspect.

This same tension returns as an uninterrupted trail throughout the
artist’s production.

The letters have gradually fluidified becoming forms, rithm, ambients until they merge into a chaotic sinuosity, yet regulated by precise rules.ˮ

The mixture of lettering and figurative, present since the beginnings of the the artist works, and the frequent use of bright tones and strong contrasts, allows him to produce scenarios with very strong chromatic impacts, in which the works overcome the barrier of two-dimensionality and, through a study on depth and perspective detach from the wall.

The insertion of limbs, faces and figures guarantees him the achievement of apexes of tension transcending the three dimensions to involve the fourth, the temporal dimension.

Born and based in Padua, Made514 began his activity in the graffiti scene in the early 1990s. Evolving from the world of
Graffiti Writing, he embarked on an artistic path in painting and sculpture, experimenting with materials and techniques that transcend the artistic experience of Writing.

In his works, dreamlike atmospheres stimulate empathetic aesthetic impressions, consequently immersing the viewer immediately within the pieces.

Made514 has taken the study of
lettering to a level of complexity where the sinuous dynamism of the letters of his name takes flight and breaks apart into a
mixture of Eastern and psychedelic impressions.

His works are characterized by soft forms, sharp lines, emotional stains, and highly dynamic movements in contrast with geometric frameworks, where letters find space to merge with the figurative world.

The fusion of lettering and figurative
nuances present since the artistʼs early work along with the frequent use of bright tones and strong contrasts, allows him to
produce scenarios with a strong chromatic impact, in which the works surpass the barrier of two-dimensionality and, through a study of depth and perspective, seem to abandon the support.

In his exploration of letters, he uses the tag as a vehicle for study, the gesture of movement as an expression of intent, and
lettering as an emergent construct. The resulting images often take on a psychedelic quality, where the gestures of calligraphy articulate and crystallize in the duration of expression.
